Our Why
The Current Landscape
Many workplaces are often perceived as awful and soul-sucking, where managers may resort to bullying or incompetence, leading to high turnover rates and the loss of top talent. Employees frequently feel overwhelmed and overworked, contributing to a toxic atmosphere that stifles creativity and innovation. This environment not only affects individual well-being but also hampers overall team performance.
Transform with Ascend Together
We focus on fostering empathy and effectiveness among managers and leaders to transform overwhelming work environments. Managers and leaders shift overnight from being individual contributors to being people leaders. This change often comes without leadership training or support on how to be an impactful leader. The result is managers and leaders learning by fire and torching team members in the process of their leadership development.
We provide the strategies and frameworks to allow managers and leaders to become empathetic leaders. We help them to see their strengths and address their improvement opportunities with confidence. We teach them how to self-regulate and how to position their teams for success. By placing the wellness of both teams and leaders at the forefront, organizations can create a more positive and productive workplace culture.
The Case for Empathetic Leadership
1. Navigating Conflict Seamlessly
Empathetic leadership equips managers with the tools to navigate conflicts effectively. By understanding the perspectives and emotions of team members, leaders can address issues before they escalate, fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration. This proactive approach not only resolves conflicts but also strengthens team cohesion.
2. Empowering Team Members
When leaders adopt a wellness-focused approach, they empower their teams to bring forth their best ideas. By creating a safe space where employees feel valued and heard, leaders can tap into the collective intelligence of their teams. This empowerment encourages creativity and innovation, leading to better problem-solving and more effective decision-making.
3. Inspiring Discretionary Effort
A supportive and empathetic workplace inspires employees to give that extra effort — discretionary effort. When team members feel respected and valued, they are more likely to go above and beyond to help the team succeed. This cultural shift can significantly enhance team performance and drive organizational success.
